Borui Li is currently the Ph. D candidate, in the School of Optics and Electronics Information, Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST). Since 2013, he was involved in the research of optical fiber communication, especially Space Division Multiplexing (SDM) research, led by Prof. Ming Tang and Prof. Songnian Fu. From Nov. 2013 to Dec. 2014, he had an internship in the National Key Lab and R&D department of Yangtze Optical Fibre & Cable Joint Stock Limited Company (YOFC), focusing on the multicore fiber and few mode fiber design and characterization, fan-in/fan-out device for SDM fabrication. The Ph. D research is focused on the fundamentals and key techs in SDM, enhancing the capacity of short reach optical fiber communication systems, like access network, or fronthaul transmission.As a member of several national projects, like 863 project and NSFC, he is also involved into the research of long-haul large-capacity optical fiber transmission system, to solve some specific problems, like CD estimation.Since Jan. 2016, he is sponsored by China Scholarship Council to have a 12-month internship in the Bell Labs, Crawford Hill, Holmdel, focusing on the probabilistic constellation shaping transmission, nonlinear interference analysis and compensation, and so on.
