Saleen is a US luxury sport car company ,with wonderful performance and achievement on the racing track. And won many global champions ,such as sports racing car Saleen S7 and 24-hour Le Mans .Mainly work scopes:◆making purchasing strategy and commodity target price approaching . ◆Schedule and drive the project sourcing plan and manage 68 buy-level ASM parts (more than 20 suppliers) to meet project main timing ,such as Drive motor and transmission with control unit ,BMS(Battery management system),VCU(Vehicle control unit), Engine Mount ,Tire ,Cooling system ,exhaust/intake air system ,Gasoline tank and pump, Stabilizer bar ,Damper ASM with lift system, Driveshaft ,Control Arms, ect..◆Working with global cross function team from US and Germany closely to clean project blocking and urgent cases as a communication bridge .◆Organizing workshop to define sourcing process and clarify function team requirement to meet project main timing . ◆Having a globally team to work together .Sport luxury car transferred from US marketing to CN marketing with big challenge of limited resource to source supplier ,catching up with project timing and target price ,technology review meeting with global team . ◆ Training :Supporting and sharing purchase skill and commodity market analysis with purchasing team members .◆Achievement of the project cost target and VAVE saving by workshop and negotiation , more than 10 millions cost saving during the luxury Sport car ,Sport SUV and Electronic CAR. ◆Drive supplier ‘s capacity and investment for project PO. Hilite is an international company which mainly produces engine parts and transmission parts . And it has three plants located in Germany , USA and China . The customers are VW,BMW,GM, Volvo ,Porsche ,ect.. I am responsible for global project material preparation and supplier sorting for Turning &machining parts , Fine Blanking parts, forging and Die-casting parts , which are served for engine BU .As a project and commodity leader ,I need to make the purchasing strategy for raw material and make purchase cost budget .Manage and control prior work , such as outsourcing products ,sorting competitive supplier from international market ,Cost analysis and negotiation , project management and cost reduction YOY .In order to sourcing a competitive supplier , I make a very widely feasibility study in Asia ,USA and Germany market . I gather supplier self-inquiry to make a feasibility analysis and get a fully cost information . After these cost elements analysis , I can fully understand the cost impact from different markets and recommend the supplier to Hilite USA,Germany and China . Internally , I managed and lead the project sourcing timing and control cost to reach target price . Contact with function Dep.smoothly to achieve price target and samples submission . Also organize technical review workshop with supplier and function Dep. to make more understanding for new project parts . The main engine projects ,which I leaded and achived partly , are VW EA211 1.5, EA211 EVO , Geely GEP3 ,Borgward . And open bidding for new projects as Volvo VEP4 global ,DPCA EB6.3,Geely VEP4 Gen 2,FCA GME-T4 .If any design issues which impact cost optimization , I contacted with Germany design center to discuss and find better solution. Then got a very good commercial result for cost saving . I had make a good saving performance of 30M RMB . As Armature and Snout , I negotiated with supplier to change material order process and change the cutting tool to save 20 % cost .

As a purchasing person in BIW(Body In White) team ,Mainly managed and negotiated with Bao steel ,POSCO,Wu steel , Benxi POSCO ,China steel(Taiwan) and Nippon steel to make steel sourcing and negotiation and purchasing strategy for yearly frame contract . and work closely with Mckinsey person .I lead business with Europe Magna and ArcelorMittal for changes .I searched potential supplier in global market , fully understand stamping process of Blanking ,Drawing, Forming, Trimming, Cap Trimming, Piercing, Cap Piercing ,Flanging ,Cap Flanging and Re-Strike ,and welding parameter of welding-current, plate thickness, cycle time, welding pressure and diameter of nugget ,it is helpful to find the key point where can reduce the price . I have much more experience for material utilization . I can judge the cost from supplier that it is correct or not.Accomplishments :(1)negotiated with steel mill of Baosteel ,I have saved 330RMB/ton(excluded tax),lifecycle saving 162Million RMB .Negotiated with Benxi-POSCO , saved 310RMB/ton(excluded tax), lifecycle saving 268.7Million RMB. total saving in the whole lifecycle is 430.7Million RMB .(2) I had Created and built the steel service quotation structure process . Connect with function team of ME and SE to get the parts blanking 3D and CAD data for quotation. I had organized steel service center and stamping supplier to make material utilization . Change single die to progressive die: 15parts have been updated the blanking process .The total saving is 32.74RMB/car, Total project lifecycle saving is 53.25 Million RMB. (3) For the welding material handling cost,the handling cost is 10%~12% . I negotiated with suppliers and finally get a 5%-7% cost down. Total lifecycle saving is 9.71Million.(4) I negotiated with three supplier for the 2#welding ,3#welding ,Nuts&bolt welding ,CO2 welding and sealing welding saving .The total welding cost saving per vehicle 19.86RMB, Total lifecycle saving is 32.3 Million.

Based on the production plan ,I am responsible for steel material sourcing and BIW parts purchasing work. And tracking parts change ,parts trying out on the tooling .and tracking parts stamping process . Together with Product engineering and Manufacture engineering , to analyze the production try-out issues and cold stamping issues and Assembly welding issues , then, make much more understanding of material cold stamping function .Make the purchasing plan for stamping steel material. And make stamping steel material sourcing ,study , open bidding , negotiation ,release PO , tracking cost change list ,tracking idea list of saving .Preparing test material for new project ,as SGM ,SVW, SIAC.During this work experience time , my achievement is :Based on the parts status and size , I had organized suppliers meeting to optimize the material utilization and stamping process utilization . I suggested changing some of the blanking process from single die to progressive die. Through this useful way. We can improve 39% percentage of material utilization for some of parts. Take A-PILLAR OTR UPR LH as an example , material utilization is 61% before optimizing ,the utilization is becoming 100% with my suggestion . The cost reduction is 28RMB/set . and I have saved 17.36 M during the project lifecycle . With the negotiation strategy of “Quantity-Price ”structure ,setting a kit of other business and changing the storage place , Stamping suppliers were agreed with reduction of cost and saved more than 20 million RMB in project lifecycle .
