Dr. Wenquan Wang, professor of genomics and molecular breeding for tropical crops as cassava, head of MOA Key Laboratory of Discipline Group for Tropical Crop Biology, vice director of Hainan Center of bio-energy engineering & technology, once being coordinator of National Key Basic Research Program (973) “The principal research on genetic improvement in cassava important tropical crop”. In the pass career, He won a third prize of National Science and Technology Innovation Award and other two provincial level prizes. Currently, focus on understanding molecular mechanism of starch accumulation in tuber roots, developing new molecular tools in cassava based on genome and genomics toward to build up a whole genome resolution for elite varieties breeding in cassava and other tropical crops. Published more than 100 articles include of papers published in Nature Comm., NAR, Scientific Reports, BMC Genomics etc.
