The LCA Expert Center (LEC) was established in October 2023 as a group of experts with specialized knowledge and extensive experience in LCA, with the mission of "Promoting a transition to a sustainable society through the implementation of LCA." LEC aims to realize sustainable management for companies by creating and providing value through advanced LCA and offers corporate consulting services called LCA Expert Service and LCA calculation support tools called MiLCA and LCI database IDEA. LEC has received a capital investment from the Sustainable Management Promotion Organization (SuMPO), a general incorporated association, and will continue to promote business collaboration as a SuMPO-affiliated company. The MiLCA business was transferred from SuMPO.

The mission of SuMPO is to achieve a non-material and prosperous future with SuMPO’s resources of back-casting thinking and LCA communication. The LCA resources include LCA-database IDEA (https://sumpo.or.jp/consulting/lca/idea/ ), LCA-Software MiLCA ( https://www.milca-milca.net/ ), and EPD program “Japanese EPD program by SuMPO” ( https://ecoleaf-label.jp/ ), those of which I have carried out and managed since 2005. Recently, I have been focusing on LCA human resource development to respond to the explosively increasing LCA needs of companies (https://sumpo.or.jp/consulting/lca/expertschool.html ). I am now in charge of supporting sustainable management based on LCA communication and circular economy through the value chain and establishing a good global pathway in that context.

Mission of LCA center of JEMAI is dissemination of Life cycle thinking and Ecodesign. Our activities include operating LCA society of Japan as secretariat ( http://lca-forum.org ), environmental label program; Carbon footprint of products ( https://www.cfp-japan.jp/english/ ) and Ecoleaf EPD ( https://ecoleaf-label.jp/ ), LCA supporting tool MiLCA and Database IDEA ( http://www.milca-milca.net ).
