Marian is a supplier of Apple company from US, it's one of the biggest companies in Die-cutting industry. Working as PE & Tooling manager in Marian company, I have three groups in my team, every group was constructed by myself.1. Tooling group The responsibility is tooling management. target is controlling tooling cost and improving tooling quality and lead time. Total 6 peoples in tooling team, they are all trained by me, from 2016 to 2019, I reduced annual tooling cost more than 50%, detail data is from RMB 22,000,000 to RMB 82,000,00. I redesigned tooling developing process, tooling lead time was reduced from 10 days to 5 days.2. Process engineering group Main job of this group is improving some projects which can't reach profitable target. Most projects profit target is 25%, but some projects are defective, we must analyze each step of part processing, work with other department and find ways for improvement. this team was established in 2019, from beginning to now, we improved more than 40 projects and got about RMB 80,000,000 profit for company.3. Production supporting group The purpose of this group is supporting product lines. 8 technician guide workers and help them adjust machines on line. At before, there are more than 30 line leaders in production teams, our boss think we don't need so many line leaders, he asked me select some skilled workers and train them, after training, 8 workers were promoted to technicians, from doing this work, we reduced 22 indirect workers for company and saved more than RMB 2,000,000 for one year.4. New function for myself--support PD departments From leading tooling and PE team, I got a lot of experience, I share important information with PD engineers, help them improve designing work, we shortened develop cycle and increased process stability.

Whirlpool is the biggest white house appliance manufacture in the world.My responsibility is cost analyzing and controlling in Whirlpool company.1. Control new product cost Before new product was push to production, I should estimate parts cost according to 2D & 3D drawings, if estimated part cost is higher than planed cost, must find ways to reduce it. total cost of product must be controlled by my team.2. Analyze advantage and cost from tearing down product made by competitor Product leadership is the target of our team, every year each engineer must complete at least 10 projects, I tear down product from competitor and make report to R&D department, tell them the advantage of competitor and estimated cost.3.Check BOM cost with financial team and sourcing team All products of Whirlpool are made by suppliers, I often give suggestion to sourcing team in order to confirm the real cost of new product. beside this, financial team can get information from me and check BOM price from suppliers.

Foxconn is the biggest factory for 3C products, Tooling engineer is my first job after graduation from university, main work is developing stamping tooling and following it until transfer to stamping factory. in three years of foxconn, I finished about 100 tooling projects.1. Estimate process of metal part. When I received metal parts drawings, must analyze the stamping process and tooling cost, after that give feed back to customers. 2. Develop stamping tooling. I got order from customer, then I design tooling using CAD, after making drawing, I send tooling parts drawing to tooling makers.3. Follow tooling manufacture process. When tooling parts are in made, I should work with suppliers to confirm tooling detail.4. Assemble tooling and modification All tooling part returned from suppliers, I worked with workers for tooling assemble, if found mistake I must modify tooling drawing.5. Manage stamping factory At 2011, company hired a new manager come from Canada, because I can speak English, I was improved from tooling engineer to manager assistant, help him manage stamping factory.
