I have over 10 years' of rich work experience in the area of biodiversity and natural resources conservation. My previous jobs allowed me to work in a variety of landscapes varying from the mountainous northwest Yunnan to the Yellow Sea; as well as a wide range of themes from biodiversity to ecological footprint. I also worked closely with partners based in the US, Japan, Russia, Korea and several EU states at both policy and practice level. This helps make me both a big-picture thinker, an effective learner and a reliable team leader. Conducting strategic planning, developing proposals, raising funds, running grants, overseeing the implementation of conservation projects, supervising team members, conducting internal & external communications and managing relationship with various stakeholders are among the major tasks I have been dealing with. I majored in environmental science and marine ecology in Ocean University of China before completing my Master of Environmental Management at Yale School of Forestry & Environmental Studies. Right after graduation in 2005, I joined TNC-China and worked in northwest Yunnan for over a year, then for WWF-China in Beijing to lead the marine and fishery program for almost seven years. I am currently serving The Paulson Institute (PI) as Associate Conservation Director. The focus of my work is to conserve vital freshwater and coastal wetlands via both science-based policy advocacy and pilot projects on the ground. Although I only worked for international organizations, I strongly believe that in the coming years, China’s domestic civil society will play an increasingly important responsibility. I recently helped a group of local conservation leaders set up a local NGO namely Tianjin Binhai New Area Wetland Conservation Society as a member of its Board of Advisors.
