I have over 37 years of experience in the financial and insurance industry, having worked at Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance and Nippon Credit Bank (now Aozora Bank). During my career, I also served as a director for overseas joint ventures for more than 11 years.1.Since 2004, I have been at the forefront of overseas P&C insurance, specifically in Aviva's Asian P&C operations and Taiwan's Mingtai Insurance. Furthermore, I have taken the lead in M&A and post-merger integration (PMI) activities in the overseas life insurance sector, specifically with the following ventures: BOCOM MSIG Life in China, 37.5% stake in 2020Max Financial Services in India, Listed, 21.9% stake in 2012MSIG Life Indonesia, 80.0% stake since 2011Hong Leong Assurance in Malaysia, 30.0% stake in 2010Hong Leong MSIG Takaful in Malaysia, 35.0% stake in 2011Ceylinco in Sri Lanka, 15.0% stake since 2015Bangkok Life in Thailand, Listed, 3.4% stakein 2004Phoenix in UK, 14.5%stake in 2020Challenger in Australia, 15.2% stake since 2017At present, I hold the position of Head of MS&AD Group's overseas life insurance operations. In this capacity, I am actively engaged in advancing shareholder discussions with joint venture partners and shaping our strategic direction. Simultaneously, I oversee and manage the operations of the above investment ventures.2.Leading the establishment of new domestic businesses, including life insurance startups with Citigroup (now Mitsui Sumitomo Primary Life Insurance), defined contribution pension businesses, mutual fund distribution business, and mutual fund management businesses for 4 years.3.Engaging in foreign securities-related business such as bond trading and bond market analysis in London and Tokyo for 5 years.4.7 years of experience in corporate lending at a bank, including corporate and project evaluations, and sales of financial derivatives.5.Serving as a non-executive director for companies in India, China, and Indonesia for over 11 years, actively contributing to governance enhancement.Notably, I have played a pivotal role in MS&AD group's overseas life insurance business since I proposed new life insurance market entries to the Board in 2004. Then, I have been overseeing M&A transactions and subsequent PMI. This strategic approach led to significant growth in the group's enterprise value and diversification of risk and revenue. Consequently, the profit contribution from overseas life insurance businesses increased from zero to JPY 20.6 billion in the fiscal year ending March 2023, accounting for 13% of MS&AD Group's overall profits.
