1. The LDPC based ECC wrapper evaluationCreate an emulation environment to support evaluating all features of the LDPC design, the co-simulation locates most of the design bugs, and FPGA prototype are established to test the capability of the decoders with high stress during the long run. Analyze the collected data to obtain the charts which illustrate the performance of the LDPC, and estimate the throughout of the gear-shifting LDPC architecture.2. Developing of the firmware and driversFrom frontend firmware to reduce latency and improve the performance/IOPS, to the backend flash error handle scheduling when UECC occurs. Also help develop drivers, unit test, and C models for the hardware new features, and help debugging the firmware issues in CoSim/FPGA/ASIC platform.3. Open-Channel SSD implementation on VIA SSD. On demand of a high-efficiency but low maintenance cost firmware for an earlier Wholechip validation, we adapt the Open-Channel SSD, and I create the whole firmware to bridge the LighNVM and the hardware drivers. New scheme is introduced to handle the WA of flash, complicate programming order of TLC flashes is supported, and the MixVector feature widens its usages. The performance of this firmware can reach the bottleneck of the flash.
