Dr. Yaobo Liu. Ph.D. and M.D. Professor of Neuroscience and Doctoral Supervisor. Distinguished Professor at Soochow University. Deputy Director of Institute of Neuroscience, Soochow University. Principal Investigator of the Laboratory for Neural Circuit Repair in CNS Trauma. In 2000, Dr. Liu obtained his Ph.D. in neuroscience at the Academy of Military Medical Sciences. After that he received his postdoctoral training at the University of Chicago. From 2007-2012, Dr. Liu joined the Institute of Biophysics, the Chinese Academy of Sciences as Associate Professor and was promoted to Professor later. In 2012, Dr. Liu joined the Soochow University as Distinguished Professor. In 2019, Dr. Liu was promoted to Deputy Director of Institute of Neuroscience, Soochow University. Dr. Liu’s research focus on studying the neural regeneration and neural circuit re-establishment in CNS trauma, including research (1) explore the molecular signals in regulation of axonal regeneration and find the druggable targets; (2) explore the mechanisms underlying the neural modulations in neural circuit re-establishment and relevant advanced techniques to achieve it. Some of findings were published in Nat Neuroscience (2005.highlighted), Cell Research (2012. highlighted) and EMBO Journal (2016. highlighted) etc. Academic memberships for Dr. Liu: Member of the Society for Neuroscience (SfN) and member of National Neurotrauma Society (NNS). Committee members of Neural Development and Regeneration Chapter & Neural Glia Chapter, Chinese Neuroscience Society.
