Shuyang is a Lecturer of Environmental Sciences in College of Science, Mathematics, and Technology of the Wenzhou-Kean University. He is trained as a Physical Geographer with expertise in Remote Sensing Technology. He earned his BSc in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) from Hefei University of Technology and went on to complete his MSc in Geoinformatics at the Department of Land Surveying and Geo-Informatics (LSGI) at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. In 2023, he obtained his PhD in Geographical Sciences from the University of Nottingham. Prior to that, he served as a Research Assistant in Hydrological Modeling for the Sponge City project at the University of Nottingham Ningbo China and worked as a Big Data Engineer at the National Beidou Navigation Satellite Data Center. After PhD, he worked as a Teaching Fellow in the Department of Geographical Sciences at the University of Nottingham Ningbo China. Before moving to Wenzhou, he also undertook a short-term joint postdoctoral fellowship at the Eastern Institute of Technology, Ningbo and the University of Science and Technology of China. He is currently advancing his research on Cryospheric changes on the Tibetan Plateau in the context of climate change, with a particular focus on glacier collapse and mass balance changes estimation and modeling. Additionally, he is investigating coastal wetland changes and their underlying mechanisms and interaction with urbanization.
