I have achieved my Ph.D. degree on Environmental Science in University of CAS, under the direction of Prof. Dongyan Liu in Yantai Institute of Coastal Zone Research. In my Ph.D. project, I have been studying the distribution of microfossils (diatoms and silicoflagellates) in surface sediment in Yellow Sea, China to explore the key factors determining their spatial pattern. With four-year rigorous training, I have an insightful understanding on using microfossils as indicators to analyze marine environment. Not only has the skill of identifying diatoms and silicoflagellates under microscope been obtained (267 diatom taxa and 2 silicoflagellate species were identified in total), but also my capability of data processing has been improved. Especially, I am skillful with PCA, CCA and cluster analysis. Also, I always enjoy long-time work in the field and have accumulated rich experience in cruise work. My Ph.D. supervisor, Prof. Dongyan Liu would like to support my postdoc application as my referee.With my interest, knowledge and expertise in the field of microfossils as indicators of environmental change, I’m confident in making contributions to the field of marine ecology and environment.
