I am an energetic accounting student looking to deepen and broaden my skills through an entry-level accounting position. I am well on my way to earning my undergraduate degree in the Spring of 2022 and continue towards a CPA license immediately. My drive stems from being the only person in my family going to a higher-level institute, which inspired me to pursue more opportunities.After being in the army for several years, I wanted to pursue a business career to hopefully become an entrepreneur or someone who works at a firm with a team but wanted to keep my career options open, so here I am. I test the waters a little bit by obtaining a bookkeeping certificate from a technical school, Navajo Technical University, and I was more compelled to not only continue my education but pursue a CPA license.My professional experience comes from tutoring students at Navajo Technical University, internships, and being the Vice President of budget and finance for the America Indigenous Business Leaders. I tutored students for the fall and spring semesters of 2018 and 2019, where I gained a deep understanding of how others think and perceive problems. My internships were located at the same governmental entity through HACU's National Internship Program in Washington, D.C, for the U.S Agency for Global Media during the Summer and Fall of 2019. Due to my performance from my initial internship during the summer, I earned the opportunity to work for the Office of the CFO in the internal audit division during the Fall. I familiarized myself with governmental procurements and internal controls through the government's risk assessment and improper payments and recoveries. My duties for the American Indigenous Business Leaders maintain accurate financial information for all fundraising and responsible for reporting financial activities on a semi year basis.
