Zanj Spice Limited (t/a 1001 Organic) is a spice production and trading company established 2012 in Zanzibar, Tanzania.
As a social enterprise, Zanj Spice Limited applies commercial strategies to maximize improvements in financial, social and environmental well-being of its small-scale farmer cooperatives. Together with the launch of its premium brand “1001 Organic”, the company started to introduce strict organic production standards to the smallholders in Zanzibar and maintains perfect traceability of its products. To provide the comprehensive spice experience, Zanj Spice Limited supervises the whole production chain from the farms to the oversea exports and set up global distribution channels without any middlemen.
