11th Spen Valley (Hunsworth) Scout Group
Formed in Hunsworth near Cleckheaton in 1947
Providing #SkillsForLife for 6-14 year olds, through a range of activities and events.
The Scouts helps over 460,000 young people in the UK develop the skills they need to succeed in life. Internationally, there are over 30 million young people enjoying the benefits of Scouting. We believe that young people develop most when they are 'learning by doing,' when they are given responsibility, work in teams, take acceptable risks and think for themselves.
We also offer adventure to adults, and there is wide variety of roles and opportunities available to those who want to get involved.
Our Chief Scout is Bear Grylls: 'Two things matter in life: following your dreams and looking after your friends. This is what I love about Scouting. It’s about doing great things, loving and enjoying the great adventures and helping others to do the same.'
