1st Brigade Family Readiness Group

You might be wondering what an FRG is and what it does? We have learned that many family members are not entirely sure what an FRG is, what it does or how they to get involved. FRG stands for "Family Readiness Group" and the FRG is a focal point for ensuring family member readiness. Regardless of the unit the FRG supports, all FRGs serve the same primary purpose: to keep the family members informed and supported throughout the career of their service member(s) and especially during deployments. 1st Brigade is one big family, and the FRG serves the soldiers and their family members. Through supporting the Command Group (Commander and SEA), the FRG helps to keep soldiers mission focused during deployments and training. The FRG supports family communications & guidance, as well as providing morale support such as unit events. The Command Group considers the FRG a force multiplier and regularly engages the FRG to help keep family members updated and supported.
