What is a DAO?
People joining the community become the co-owners of the 1.5°C DAO.
A DAO (Decentralised Autonomous Organisation) is an online community, usually based in different countries, that jointly controls a cryptocurrency wallet to pursue common goals. It is an emerging form of an organisation with no central governing body and whose members share a common goal to act in the entity’s best interest.
Popularised through cryptocurrency enthusiasts and blockchain technology, DAOs are used to make decisions in a bottom-up management approach.
How the community operates
The community builds settings where trust and reciprocity can emerge, grow, and be sustained over time. The community members get tokens as digital assets that empower active involvement in the community’s activities and give voting power to their owners. Also, every member can issue a proposal they want the DAO to consider. It is voted for in Discord, and changes take place if successful.
