218 Strand is operated by the Society of Mediators, a registered mediation charity, on a not-for-profit basis to provide a base for its activities, including the Free Mediation Project, and to raise funds to enable its charitable purposes to be undertaken. Its Trustees represent the diversity of spirit and initiative that defines everything that our exceptional legal landmark stands for and more than a third of the activities at 218 are pro-bono. 218 Strand, in collaboration with the Society of Mediators, also offers fully accredited mediation training, taught by Jonathan Dingle who has been running the training courses for over 15 years. Found on the second floor, 218 Strand has its own Lawyer’s Lounge, with hot desking and IT facilities - a stone’s throw away from the Royal Courts of Justice. Additionally, we have fully functional three-room mediation suite, which is available for hire and we welcome legal and mediation practitioners who require a place to meet clients for conferences, JSMs, mediations and arbitrations etc. 218 Strand is also home to 218 Strand Chambers, Chambers of Mr Jonathan Dingle FRSA, specialising in Personal Injury, Clinical Negligence, Costs and Alternative Dispute Resolution.
