Attached to the command of the force and land operations (CFOT) since August 1, 2024, the 2nd RPIMa is placed under the operational control of the higher command (COMSUP) of the armed forces in the southern zone of the Indian Ocean (FAZSOI). It constitutes the major land echelon of the FAZSOI and can support the action of the State in the event of a serious event in Reunion.
