Two Wentworth Chambers

Commonly referred to as the “friendly Floor”, we are a barristers' chambers based in Sydney’s premiere legal address: Wentworth Chambers, Level 2, 180 Phillip Street, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. The Floor's Members predominantly focus on common law, succession law and other general law expertise. The Floor’s twenty barristers, including a senior counsel, are briefed in some of the country’s most intellectually challenging and significant court cases. We offer our clients a full range of advocacy, advisory, drafting arbitration and mediation services. Set up in 1957, the Floor began it’s journey as a common law chambers specialising in personal injury, public liability, workers compensation and medical negligence matters. In the past 20 years, the Floor has become renowned for its capability in succession cases with barristers actively briefed before the Succession and Probate Lists of the Supreme Court of New South Wales. Our barristers are highly experienced in providing expert legal services in all Australian court jurisdictions and tribunals, across a diverse range of practice areas including administrative law, commercial litigation, common law, equity and trusts, family and succession, insurance, local government, taxation and criminal law. A number of Counsel have represented clients in landmark decisions, and current and former members of Two Wentworth Chambers have taken judicial appointments in the Federal Court of Australia, Supreme and District Courts of New South Wales. Many of our barristers are experienced alternative dispute resolution practitioners, including accredited mediators, arbitrators and expert determiners. We accept briefs from solicitors in private practice, as well as in-house legal practitioners.
