As a marketing executive at Lockheed-Martin, 3DI2’s founder Tom White pioneered a method that helped convince the US Air Force to award Lockheed a $70 billion contract for the revolutionary new F-22 fighter jet. After nine years at Lockheed, Tom left to found 3DI in 1990.
3DI was quickly engaged to elevate sales for Motorola, Philips, Volvo, and Iridium. As word of 3DI success spread, Tom White was engaged to partner with leading design and strategy consultancies to create sales growth programs for SC Johnson, Unilever, Paccar, Shell, GE, Clear Wireless, KOR Water, Microsoft, Agilent, Okami Foods, Café Ugo and many others.
Tom White lived in Europe as a partner at Dutch design consultancy EDG from 2000-2004, where he grew and sold the firm. Since his return to the US, Tom has been building business for leading design and strategy firms and their clients, and has launched 3DI2 on the 20th anniversary of the original.
Tom earned a BFA in industrial design and an MBA, has spoken globally on branding and design, and has won more than 15 awards for design and communication.
