The Long Island Soaring Association (LISA) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting the sport, science, and joy of motorless flight. Based at Brookhaven Airport (HWV), we have been serving the Long Island aviation community since 1955, offering safe and affordable access to glider flight for aspiring pilots, seasoned aviators, and anyone curious about soaring.
As one of the oldest and most active soaring clubs in the Northeast, LISA provides year-round flight instruction, scenic introductory rides, and a supportive community of aviation enthusiasts. Our fleet of high-performance sailplanes and experienced FAA-certified instructors make it possible for members to progress from first flight to solo, and even to FAA glider certification.
