49th State Brewing

49th State Brewing was founded in Denali, about 10 miles north of the entrance to the national park. CEO/Founder David McCarthy sought to contribute to the rich tradition of beer making in Alaska in a place where the locals and visitors alike could commune. 49th State Brewing now has four locations. The downtown Anchorage pub, a 30,000 sq ft brew pub with multiple levels of dining, two rooftop patios, a beer garden with dog park, four private event spaces, and views of the mountains and Cook Inlet opened in 2016 and is now one of the busiest restaurants in the nation. The airport location opened in 2023 and operates in pre and post security as a stand-out location for travelers to dine. The newest location is opening in the spring of 2025 and is connected to the production facility where 49th State’s biggest brands are brewed and packaged.
