Established in 1997, Rock FM Association Inc. *(trading as 4RFM Community Radio Station) is a non-profit organization which provides a community broadcasting service to the people of Moranbah, Nebo, Dysart, Coppabella, Clermont, surrounding mines site and rural properties. We have also positioned ourselves as Moranbah's Media Hub in the past 3 years with our free monthly printed publication Moranbah Community News and management of the community media screens (televisions). We currently have 25 volunteer on-air presenters & music programmers and offer a school-based youth broadcasting program (Project Y) and an afternoon media training program for students. 4RFM have two primary school-based programs running once a week and have recently introduced a youth podcasting program (Project Podcast). Our community is broad and includes listeners from a wide range of industries from mining and their support industries, agriculture and road users. Our townships comprise of community members from all ages, this means our broadcasting needs to be diverse and is aimed at connectedness between all people regardless of social, cultural or ethnic backgrounds.
