Based in Johannesburg, but working all throughout Southern Africa, we're a BBBEE(Level 1) accredited survey firm offering professional land and engineering survey services, including: conventional property boundary/ cadastral surveys; topographical surveys; volume surveys and construction surveys. We also have extensive experience in 3D laser scanning for reality capture (point cloud), 3D modelling for as-built plans and Scan-to-BIM projects. We regularly carry out 3D laser scanning of buildings for renovation planning or council approved plans(architects); plant environments for collision detection and maintenance(plant managers); structures for structural analysis(structural engineers); construction sites for as-built survey and design alterations(construction professionals) and urban sites for infrastructure planning (civil engineers). In recent years at 5D Geo, we have been using UAV's (drones) to capture mass terrestrial data from the air at a fraction of the time and cost of ground-based survey. The multitude of deliverables from the aerial drone surveys assist our clients in being able to visualize and better understand the information we provide and in turn, they're able to make more informed decisions.
