A Better Way

I believe most behavioral problems (those not biologically caused) result from attempting to solve life problems with methods that eventually make things worse. I see my clients solving their problems better, becoming freer and happier, as they learn to listen to themselves and to those around them. I work with adults with problems with depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, substance abuse, gambling and other compulsive behavior. Together, we find solutions that work. I approach problems with a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, interpersonal therapy and solutions-based therapy. Therapy is work, working smarter not harder, at making changes. Depression and anxiety can be helped greatly with listening and with changes in thinking, acting and lifestyle, with or without medication. I provide chemical dependency evaluations and Level 1 treatment, including for DUI. I conduct a low-cost group for problem gamblers, sponsored by the MT Council on Problem Gambling. I have more than 30 years experience, with almost 20 years in private practice.
