ARD is a service company, created in 1989, offering product & process development services (Process Design, Development, Scale up and CMO) in the fields of plant extraction, green chemistry, cellulosic biomass, industrial biotechnology, bio-inputs, bio-energies. ARD's CEO is Mr Philippe AUBRY. ARD has comprehensive laboratory and pilot scale equipments & 2 industrial demonstration plants in chemistry & white biotechnology (1 to 9 m3 glass line reactors for the green chemistry and sterile fermentors up to 220m3 for white biotechnology) allowing scaling up and custom manufacturing capacity. ARD has launched 3 companies : - Soliance : green cosmetic ingredient supplier (now part of Givaudan Group), - Wheatoleo : APP (AlkylPolyPentosides) surfactants for home & personal care & industrial applications, - BioAmber in partnership with DNP GT for the production of succinic acid. It is at the origin of industrialization of new processes or products, nowadays operational or on the way to be, ethanol (Cristanol plant 280.000T ethanol) and other chemical intermediates under NDA. Among the ongoing contracts, it works for the account of GBE (Global Bioenergies) for the design of a fermentation process to produce isobutene.
