AAG Remote Sensing Specialty Group

Established in 1978 and with more than 400 active members, AAG Remote Sensing Specialty Group’s (RSSG) mission is to foster an understanding of remote sensing science with an emphasis on developing a meaningful dialogue among geographers interested in understanding and applying remote sensing technology in research, instruction, public service, and private enterprise. We have organized various activities to promote the subject: organizing career mentoring panel, hosting John Jensen Distinguished Lecture Series in Remote Sensing, organizing student paper and poster competitions, and awarding Early Career Awards to junior scholars and Outstanding Contributions Awards to established fellows.
