Abacus Computing Institute

AbacusCI is a private computer science academy based in Suriname, created to make computer science education more practical, accessible, and meaningful. We focus on teaching practical skills that people can use in their daily lives, whether they are students, professionals, or simply tech-savvy. Our courses are structured in short monthly modules, each focused on a specific topic such as spreadsheets, programming, or digital organization. We don't just teach theory; we help students develop habits and tools they can continue to use long after the course ends. At AbacusCI, we believe that learning to use a computer well is something everyone can benefit from. That's why we combine technical content with everyday tools, such as writing digital notes, organizing files, recording learning, and using the internet effectively. We work closely with local institutions and communities to provide a flexible learning environment that adapts to different contexts and needs. AbacusCI is not part of the formal school system, but rather a complementary space where anyone can come to grow, learn, and gain confidence with technology.
