ABB Innovation Center is a corporate innovation program of ABB (International Bank of Azerbaijan) that: • curates the ABB’s digital and online services through startups with new technology ideas, products, solutions, or services • enables a thriving innovation culture inside ABB in helping teams develop out-of-the-box ideas and solutions to imposing challenges. The primary goals of the ABB Innovation Center are: • to enable a leading and sustainable fintech ecosystem in Azerbaijan and its region. • to aspire to foster innovation in financial services, enhancing digital platforms for SMEs and individuals, • to bring up best talents towards new technologies, • to support entrepreneurs for their innovative ideas and projects. • to promote an innovative culture and build capability within the organization. ABB Innovation implements above mentioned mission and goals through the following multiple programs: 1. Creating a talent base of developers in Azerbaijan. ABB Tech Academy is a rigorous capacity-building program of ABB that trains junior talents through programming languages and advanced technologies to create an ecosystem that enables young professionals to enter into a competitive labor market. 2. Boost innovative ideas and startups. Our startup program includes multiple facilities: • Hackathons that enable entrepreneurs and developers with innovative ideas • Incubation that ushers early-stage startups into viable businesses • Accelerator that fosters startups into scaling companies • Investor Club that facilitates fundraising for startups and sources prospects for investors 3. Engage ABB employees towards entrepreneurship. We have developed a Corporate Entrepreneurship program with a set of actions that engage employees towards innovation, creativity, and better results. 4. Advance an open innovation. We are developing an API Gateway that curates to open banking and innovation practices in the Azerbaijani fintech ecosystem.
