ABHIGYAAN

Abhigyaan is a student-led initiative at BITS Pilani, Goa Campus, founded in 2005 under the visionary guidance of Prof. T.C. Goel, with the mission of “Education for All.” Currently mentored by Prof. Basavadatta Mitra, Abhigyaan has grown to become the largest volunteer-driven club on campus. With five active teaching batches operating both on and off-campus, Abhigyaan works towards empowering marginalized communities through education. Its key projects include: Project Lamani and Disha – focused on educating underprivileged children in and around the campus Evening Batch – for the children of non-teaching staff English Batch – aimed at improving communication skills for housekeeping staff Mess Batch – dedicated to providing foundational learning for mess workers Beyond regular teaching, Abhigyaan plays a vibrant role in campus life, hosting events that blend education, awareness, and celebration. These include Independence Day, Teacher’s Day, Sports Day, and the flagship Abhigyaan Week—a week-long series of activities such as financial literacy sessions, dengue awareness drives, and outreach visits to orphanages and museums. Abhigyaan continues to uphold the spirit of service, learning, and inclusive growth—one volunteer, one classroom, and one life at a time.
