His last fund made 20 investments; 8 of which saw a successful exit, 10 more of which continue to scale and progress, and only 2 of which failed. Typically in VC, one would expect 80% of investments to FAIL, or just return their investment, and only 20% succeeding. With statistics like this of an 80% SUCCESS rate, Simon displays his unique ability and innate acumen for shrewd VC investment, with a heavy emphasis on active participation in investee companies in order to drive value creation. Moreover, his first fund saw a return of 11 times its money to its investors, and still ranks as one of the top-performing VC funds ever.
