ABSLTA (Association of British Sign Language Teachers and Assessors) is led by a team of Deaf BSL teachers based in the United Kingdom. We have been nurturing and developing Deaf British Sign Language (BSL) teachers since 1989. Our aim is to ensure quality BSL education by empowering Deaf BSL teachers through support and resources. ABSLTA's mission focuses on providing high-quality continuing professional development and networking opportunities for Deaf BSL teachers and assessors. We offer a range of CPD programs, workshops, and conferences to enhance teaching skills and facilitate knowledge-sharing within our network. Committed to inclusivity and the rights of Deaf individuals, we play a vital role in advancing BSL education and shaping the field by nurturing talented educators and promoting the recognition of BSL education.
