ABTL – Los Angeles Chapter provides top quality legal education programs featuring top trial lawyers from around the country as well as local judiciary and judicial speakers from United States Supreme Court, U.S. Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and California Supreme Court. Our mission is to promote communication between the bench and bar. Our programs provide a unique opportunity network with a prestigious group of business trial lawyers and federal and state judges and learn from educational programs designed to address issues important to business trial lawyers and improve the administration of justice in business cases. We are proud of our diverse membership, which includes both plaintiff-focused and defense-focused practices and judicial officers. The Association of Business Trial Lawyers ("ABTL") was founded in Los Angeles, California in 1972 to develop a better forum for the discussion of business trials. Today, the ABTL has five thriving chapters across California, including chapters in Northern California, San Joaquin Valley, Los Angeles, Orange County, and San Diego. Each chapter is similarly dedicated to providing top quality legal education programs in a collegial atmosphere where there can be a frank exchange between bench and bar. The ABTL is also known across the state for its unmatched Annual Seminars, alternating each year between great locations in Hawaii and on the mainland (usually in California), and the seminar is always topical, educational, and fun for ABTL members and their families.
