About Amazigh Cultural Association of Ottawa & Hull (ACAOH)

The Amazigh Cultural Association of Ottawa-Hul (ACAOH) is a non-profit organization founded in 2000; since its inception, it continues to play a crucial role in the promotion and dissemination of the Amazigh culture in Canada’s National Capital. Our primary mission consists of supporting the education of Tamazight for the young kids and adults located in Ottawa or Hull. The history of the Amazigh people dates back several centuries and we are all the more proud to represent this culture and its history as part of the diversified and rich landscape of this beautiful country of ours. Since its humble beginnings, ACAOH has organically grown in the Region of the National Capital. Starting from 30 members in 2000, the association has grown towards approximately 400 active members in 2016 with the help of an engaged community and a growing demographic. We are grateful to Canada who gave us the opportunity to educate our children while teaching them their mother tongue, all this while instiling the country’s fundamental values that our children share.
