Access e.V. is a non-profit, independent research center associated with the RWTH Aachen University in Germany. Founded in 1986 as a spin-off from the University, it is now a renowned research center with an outstanding scientific and technological expertise. Its Tech-Center is an EN9100 certified, veritable casting-house targeting applications for aero-engine, biomedical and automotive markets as well as solar energy.
Research spans from alloy development to materials characterization and component engineering with focus on structural materials from metallic and intermetallic alloy systems, including novel high entropy alloys. The development of digital technologies along virtual process chains via ICME is yet another asset. Experimental methods, modeling and simulations are thus part of a highly integrated innovation framework ensuring a firm and fast response to societal challenges and customers’ demands.
