About Ateneo Center for Economic Research and Development

The Ateneo Center for Economic Research and Development (ACERD), founded in 1989 as the research unit of the Department of Economics of the Ateneo de Manila University, manages the research activities of the department that focus on applied economics and public policy. Its current research initiatives are aimed at enhancing pedagogy in the faculty and contributing to policy formulation in the Philippines, both of which are necessary for the country’s development. Culling from the vast experience of the country’s top economic experts, as well as utilizing internal economic models, ACERD conducts regular Economic Briefings available exclusively to subscribers and institutional partners. Such events cover a broad aspect of the economy, including, but not limited to, the macro-, micro- and political economy.
