Acme is a nonprofit organization committed to advancing health equity and restoring dignity for individuals experiencing homelessness through access to essential hygiene care, including dermatological and oral health support. Lack of access to hygiene is not just a public health issue, it’s a human one. Without proper skin and oral care, people experiencing housing insecurity face not only increased risk of preventable skin conditions and dental disease, but also profound effects on mental health, self-esteem, and social reintegration. At Acme, we provide thoughtfully curated hygiene kits, education on skincare, and preventative health services tailored to the unique needs of unsheltered populations. Our initiatives address common dermatological concerns such as eczema, acne, and infections, helping prevent long-term complications and reduce barriers to care. By collaborating with healthcare providers, social service agencies, and public health advocates, we bring critical, person-centered support to those who need it most.
