Through our activities, we work in several areas of service towards our membership, fellow research scholars, and the local South Bend/Notre Dame community. - To improve the graduate student experience in the ACMS Department, fostering better environments for learning and professional development. - To represent ACMS graduate students and their best interests as a united student coalition which can contribute to and respond to issues as needed with the University of Notre Dame Graduate School and ACMS Department administration. - To promote basic and applied research in mathematics leading to new methods and techniques which provide utility to industry, the scientific enterprise, and future career paths of ACMS students. As an interdisciplinary department, the exchange of information and ideas among mathematicians and other technical and scientific researchers will be highly valued. - To facilitate a cohesive and productive social network internal to the ACMS Department and with the Notre Dame community at large which fosters a welcoming, socially engaged, and enjoyable environment for all ACMS graduate students. - To create an active social environment for ACMS graduate students which allows students the greatest opportunities for academic and career success. - To engage in educational outreach opportunities within the Notre Dame community as well as the local South Bend community in order to help promote STEM careers for students, especially for minority and female underrepresented individuals, while nurturing and empowering STEM students for future success.
