Acoustic Directions

Acoustic Directions is a specialist consultancy in architectural acoustics and design, noise control and audio electro-acoustics. We are members of the AAAC (Association of the Australasian Acoustical Consultants). Sound is such an important part of everyday life and our mission is to enhance people’s daily experience in a range of different environments whether that be in the office, classroom, on public transport, attending a concert or at home. We work both holistically and collaboratively and we strive to understand our clients’ needs and develop innovative solutions with architects, town planners, audio-visual companies, manufactures, research institutes, other companies and individuals alike. Our holism-in-design approach is a key part of finding solutions for problems in which architecture, sound clarity and operational issues are important. Underpinning our work is our love of sound, physics, music, and performance. Our tools for developing acoustic solutions are supported by deep understanding of acoustical and electro acoustic theory, mathematical precision, computer modelling, complex acoustic measurements and high listening acuity. This strong theoretical and experiential platform give us confidences to work innovatively and effectively.
