ActivMotion Bars are NOT standard weighted fitness bars. They are dramatically different. ActivMotion Bars are hollow, and each hollow bar is partially filled with weighted ball bearings that glide smoothly and gently within. When used in any workout, ActivMotion Bars become an incredibly powerful teaching and training tool. As you hold the bar parallel during movement, you are instantly provided with feedback regarding postural equilibrium and stability; if the ball bearings shift, you know that you are out of alignment and need to make an adjustment. During more intense bending and twisting exercises when the ball bearings are purposely shifted from side to side, the shifting mass of the ActivMotion Bar instantly engages core muscles up to 173% more than standard training tools like weighted balls and bars and medicine balls (per a clinical study conducted at the University of Michigan).
