Actuate

Actuate is a new kind of nonprofit organization, formed to contribute a fresh approach to society's critical challenges. We know the U.S. innovation ecosystem can create technology revolutions and world-leading basic research. But it isn’t directly addressing many of our most important problems for the decades ahead. A full and vibrant innovation capacity with new insights, new methods, and new actors aimed at these problems can help turn the tide of the complex challenges we face. Actuate’s work is to catalyze this future by designing and running solutions R&D programs that create breakthroughs. To this task, we bring broad innovation experience and a track record of delivering results with the high-risk, high-payoff DARPA method. During our seed stage, we’re defining our first programs, fundraising, and building partnerships for the work ahead.
