At ACWADAM, we believe that addressing the complex and varied groundwater challenges in India requires a process-oriented approach, rather than broad, one-size-fits-all solutions. Developing effective strategies to tackle groundwater over extraction and declining water quality necessitates an approach that considers both the potential impacts of climate change and the pressures arising from increasing demand on a depleting and deteriorating water resource base. Advanced Center for Water Resources Development and Management (ACWADAM) is a think tank and knowledge facilitating organisation focused on the management and governance of groundwater. Working across India’s diverse geographical landscape, we also extend our work to neighbouring regions. Leveraging a broad spectrum of experiences from the academic, corporate, and voluntary sectors, our initiatives have made an impact in areas often considered challenging or overlooked, whether in specific geographies or in addressing critical themes. Our core mission is to connect communities with their aquifers, fostering a deeper understanding and sustainable management of groundwater resources.
