Addax Biosciences is a biotechnological startup that developed an innovative histological fixative, GAF, acronym for Glyoxal Acid Free. GAF is a revolutionary product that allows the optimal fixing of biological tissues and that can be used in the place of formalin, officially recognized as carcinogenic and mutagenic by the European Parliament (CE. n. 1272/2008).
The histological fixative GAF is safe for the operators and at the same time grants similar or even better results compared to formalin, as shown by the histological, immunohistochemical and molecular analyses performed.
GAF has an international patent and is nowadays the only product which aims to substitute the use of the toxic formalin and that can give the same diagnostic performances.
