Additive combines 3D print technology, material and design to construct environmentally friendly, efficient and inspiring buildings faster and cheaper.
After designing and constructing award-winning projects on and off site, I know industry leading partners necessary to complete larger and smaller projects from beginning to end - but most things I can do myself.
Typically a client conversation begins with framing the timeline, key goals and budget of the project. This would include hand-drawings and notes to capture the vision of client/architect.
Then, 3D models/production files would be visualized in order to decide if the design is in place.
Next, the production file is analyzed/sent to a slicer to get information about material use, printing-time, printability, price, etc.
Additive contacts provider of printer-machine, material operator and engineer to start constructing, and I would manage the printer to construct the digital file.
The advantage is that I develop the production file from sketch to production, so less knowledge is transferred between partners, this reduces potential errors, and increases efficiency.
