The Tunisian Association for the Defense of Individual Liberties (ADLI) is a non-profit association under Tunisian law which was created after January 14, 2011.
The initiative for its creation was guided by a desire to emphasize on individual freedoms which are closely linked to the individual and which remain relatively ignored or even marginalized compared to collective and public freedoms. Thus, the main mission of ADLI is to ensure the civil liberties of individuals using reflection and a scientific approach.
To do this, the ADLI conducts studies on several selected subjects, such as sexual freedoms, religious freedoms and academic freedoms, etc., with the collaboration of numerous specialists in multiple fields.
The ADLI also acts on the ground, with a view to promoting individual freedoms, through partnerships with several other civil society organizations, or within the framework of collectives and associative coalitions which defend the individual freedoms of people, such as as the civil collective for individual freedoms and the observatory for the right to be different, etc...
