Advanced Materials Solutions is a mechanical engineering company specialising in the design, development, analysis and manufacture of parts, machines and systems utilising advanced materials to achieve the utmost functionality and optimum engineered results.
All design work is conducted in a 3d environment utilising the latest in Computer Aided Design (CAD) software and analysed with state of the art Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software. Software analysis capabilities include linear static, modal, buckling, nonlinear static, thermal, fatigue, contact and various others.
The production facility is set up to manufacture using many advanced processes varying from wet lay-up to vacuum assisted resin infusion method. Manufacturing with advanced materials such as glass, aramid and carbon fibres, various core materials such as honey combs, PVC and PET foam, plastics, ceramics, polymers and classical engineering materials.
AMS is further in development of lightweight armour for the military, defence and anti-piracy industry for use on vehicles. Current certification includes STANAG 4569 Levels 1 & 2 on ultra light weight incorporated armour as well as add-on armour. Recent testing proved positive for multi-hit composite armour and full STANAG 4569 Level 2 Multi-shot certification was achieved.
