Our antimicrobial coating is a multi-layer, 18-link carbon chain with a positively charged nitrogen atom at its base. The first layer adheres itself to the surface it is applied to, while the upper layers effectively set-up a positively charged “bed of nails” that attracts microbes to its surface and then simultaneously pierces and electrocutes them on contact. Removal of the dead microbes is as easy as wiping the surface with water.
Our “mechanical kill” method differs greatly from the old, traditional ammonia and bleach-based disinfectants that work by poisoning the microbes wherever the disinfectant is applied with no long-term protection.
