As a full-service advertising agency, Advigation served demanding clients and reputable brands from 2006 until 2013. The founders, Thomas Braun and Dietmar Hermann, who both were experienced advertising and direct marketing professionals, teamed up to form their agency as a choice for clients who weren’t satisfied with the usual advertising done by general advertising agencies: Sometimes a bit funny, mostly boring, almost always ineffective. The founders already had a proven track-record of achieving results with well-known brands in all lines of business. With such credentials, they managed to attract clients like Alto/Nilfisk, Dehner, Dethleffs, Evo-Bus, Kögel, Legoland, Nestlé, Steiff, Smart and others to the small shop. The agency had a small designer/copywriter team, but the strategic and creative work was all done by the principals, which is what made it attractive to even bigger clients, because they did not have to explain what they were after several times to an account manager, project manager, copywriter, designer or media planner. The team was working in a discarded water tower with beautiful sight. It held the belief that “a good idea is a good idea even as a scribble”, and that no amount of execution could save a bland "idea". They also believed in B&B’s creative philosophy that “It's not creative unless it sells.” Thus the team created campaigns that delivered, repeatedly, using a mix of general advertising, direct marketing, online marketing, public relations, or even guerrilla marketing—depending on the requirements of the job at hand. Among the strengths were strategic discipline, creative copywriting and contemporary design. The agency closed its doors Christmas 2013 when the business partners went separate ways. Dietmar had decided to take a longer parental leave before later returning to marketing. Thomas switched sides and went to work on the client-side—as Chief Marketing Officer of a medium-sized local consumer brand.
