ADVISE Project

ADVISE will implement an innovative educational network for four young undergraduate researchers (trainees) to be formed in the field of drug development. Trainees will be introduced in a highly qualified research environment, through a “on the field” case-study dedicated to the development of novel broad spectrum antiviral agents targeting a cellular protein. ADVISE will organize the 7th IAAASS International Summer School and a Workshop, involving very highly qualified scientists in the antiviral drug discovery, and will allow the trainees to participate to IUMS 2024 - Italy. ADVISE activities will allow the trainees to be immersed in the work of scientific teams of excellence within a highly stimulating environment that will provide an intense training. 3 different teams will drive the project: “Medicinal Chemistry Team” and “Molecular Virology Team” (University of Cagliari); “Herpesvirus Team” (University of Messina). Training will focus mainly on: drug design and synthesis of hSTING agonists; biochemical and cellular studies on hSTING agonists; viral replication inhibition studies by hSTING agonists.
