Advocate Placement Ltd. was founded in 1989 by Anita Lerek. It was the first lawyer recruitment company in Ontario, and likely in Canada. It pioneered in offering legal professionals temporary and contract positions. It then broadened into a full service search firm with related career advisory services. Many of Ontario’s leaders of the legal community had their start from Advocate Placement.
It eventually pivoted into a web marketplace site linking buyers and sellers of legal services, known as Planet-Legal.
After the pandemic, the founder and president of both enterprises, Anita Lerek, stepped back to re-evaluate. Now Advocate Placement will be the holding company for a new initiative involving buyers & sellers of professional services who are age 50+, & will focus on careers, money, & aging. This new company is tentatively named, My Planet Ageless.
Pending consummation of the new entity, the sites of Advocate Placement and Planet-Legal are under review.
